Large-scale Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were injured.

The attacks succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
